Annie and I just got back from spending several days in the beautiful city of Santos, just outside of Sao Paulo. The C3 Church there is led by our good friends, Fabio and Dani Aguieiras. They and their amazing team are doing a great job and the church there is growing and thriving.

We got to spend some time Saturday night with some of the key leaders. We had some incredible pizza and talked about

leadership. C3 Santos has their weekly service on Sunday nights, as do many Brazilian churches. I was asked to wrap up the sermon series called, “Supernatural.” I preached on “Keys to Unlocking the Supernatural.” We had a great service and the altar was full at the end of the meeting of people wanting a fresh touch from God.

On Monday night, the team had scheduled a combined Connect Group Event. Two of the church’s connect groups were started in a couple of the poorer areas of Santos and over twenty people have found Christ there. The team at C3 Santos put on a great event. There were several activities in which the groups competed against each other. There was a Bible quiz, a dance contest, and even an English competition. Someone from each team had been selected to ask me a question in English. I had to be able to understand it and then answer their question. It was a lot of fun!

After the games, I spoke for a few minutes on how important it is that we be connected to the local church. It is there that we find God, we find community, and we find purpose. There was some great food after the event and we had a great time together.

wreckedcarAs you can see from the picture, our car has had a rough few weeks. A couple of weeks before we went to Santos, I was in a car accident. I was turning left and for some unknown reason, the guy in the truck behind me decided that that would be a good time to pass me on the left. Needless to say, that did not work out so good for either of us.

Thankfully, his insurance is taking care of fixing our car. It is still drivable and we took it to Santos. The driver’s door is messed up but not too much else. They will not fix it for a couple of weeks but the body shop has put us on the schedule. The main thing is that no one was hurt and the car can be fixed.

There is so much great stuff going on with the churches here. We are starting a month long leadership course next week at C3 Curitiba. We also have a team coming from Australia in a couple of weeks to be with us in Curitiba. Another team from C3 Church Silicon Valley, California, is going to be visiting C3 Santos in a few weeks.

Thanks so much for your prayers, financial support, and encouragement. We are looking forward to seeing so many of you later in the year when we come home for a visit! If you would like to be a part of our team, just click the link below. Obrigado!
