Brazil Update- It Feels Like Home!

Annie and I

Last week, we were able to move into our own apartment. This is the first time that we have been able to fully unpack our suitcases in almost a year. God answered our prayers and provided us with the perfect place to live. Thank you to all of our friends who have been agreeing with us in prayer and encouraging us!

Through some great circumstances, we were able to move back into the same apartment that we lived in last year when we were in Brazil for six months. We love this apartment. It comes fully furnished, is in the area of Curitiba that we wanted to be in, and has a nice guest room for friends visiting from the US.

There are also a lot of other great things going on. We just led a small group leader’s training course for C3 Curitiba. A growing church needs a lot of leaders. We had almost 25 people in the class. There are two new small groups starting up in August and now we have a pool of leaders to draw from as we need more. You can read about some of the things we discussed in the training here.

We also are just kicking off a four week C3 Church Culture Class. What makes C3 Church distinctive? Every group of churches has their own flavor and those things that make them unique. This class will highlight ten areas that we believe are our core values and create the culture for C3 Churches around the world. Take a look at this short video where Dr. Phil and Chris Pringle talk about these ten areas.

Part of our focus is to develop and cultivate relationships with pastors looking for connection. I preached at a great Spirit-filled Baptist Church a couple of weeks ago. We had eight people come to Christ. That pastor is now a friend. There are also a couple of independent pastors that we are building friendships with. Pastor Ronald and I are excited to serve these pastors in any way we can and do our part to build God’s Kingdom.
