As leaders, it is easy to fall into the trap of thinking that our job is to define what reality is for our organization. In fact, it is much more important to reveal possibility than it is to just to tell everyone what is going on. Most of our people are smart enough and perceptive enough to see what is going on around them. The leader’s job is to project vision on the wall so that everyone can see it.

Reality can keep us where we are, paralyzed by fear. Vision opens our eyes to possibilities.

Reality highlights our lack of resources and what we don’t have. Vision does not worry about resources. Vision focuses on opportunities and where we can go, not where we are.

Focus is not the most important thing, but being focused on the vision changes everything!
