So, what are you doing differently this year?

We all start the year with some resolutions, hopes, and dreams for the New Year. Most people at least think about losing a few pounds and getting into better shape. Other people want to reduce their debt amount.

The reality, however, is that if we keep doing things the same way we did them last year, nothing is going to change. If your goal is to drop a pants size, what are you willing to change? What new habits will help you reach that goal? It might joining a gym and actually going and working out a few days a week. It might involve rethinking what you eat during the day. It might involve giving up soft drinks or not going out for lunch to McDonald’s or Burger King everyday.

If you want to reduce the amount of credit card debt that you are carrying, what are you willing to do to make that happen? If your spending habits do not change, it is likely that instead of reducing your debt, you will probably increase it. The average American household carries $15,000 in credit card debt. Obviously, to get out from under that people have to make some radical changes in their lives.

Today, sit down and map out what changes you are going to make in your life this year. If you do not write it down, it is unlikely that anything will change. If nothing changes for the better in our lives, then we have become a living definition of mediocre. I don’t think any of my readers want to live a mediocre life! Let’s push through mediocrity and live lives that are consistently getting better.

What are you going to do differently this year?
