Remembering Who We Are
I don’t know about you, but too often I find myself caught up in the grind of daily life and forget who I really am. It is easy to remember on Sunday when I am in church, getting lost in the worship, hearing a great message, and catching up with my friends. But what about later in the week?
This video clip from The Lion King is a great picture of our need to remember Who our Father is. If we could remember every day that our Father is the Great King, the Lord of the Universe, the Creator of everything, it would transform the way we live.
“So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.” For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children. And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering. Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later.” (Romans 8:15-18)
