Story of the Week

The bullets and wierdness were whizzing through the air this week. Third Place goes to Pennsylvania College Student With License to Carry Firearm Exchanges Gunfire With Alleged Robber. That is a long headline. How about this instead? Potential Victim Shoots Predator? Or Student Wounded Resisting a Robbery? Or Student Wounds Robber, 2 Accomplices Flee? Congratulations to the young man for responding decisively to a dangerous situation.

This distubed looking young lady has the Second Place Story this week. Female “Vampire” Busted In Bloody Biting Attack. Josephine, a 22 year old Floridian, told her 69 year old victim, “I’m a vampire. I’m going to eat you,” and then proceeded to try to do just that. She took several big bites out of his face and arm. The victim had to get several stitches and a tetnus shot. Josephine was arrested. The news story also reported that Josephine had recently been a student learning how to become a Dental Assistant. The standards are obviously low in Florida. I think the police also need to confiscate all of Josephine’s Twilight books.

This weeks winning headline is Police: Burglar Killed Breaking into Cop’s Home. The headline is a little off. The off-duty Atlanta PD officer was at his fiancee’s home waiting on an air conditioning repair man. The fiancee was at work and the officer was there to help her out. While he was inside, he heard someone trying to get in the back door. The predator tried to pry open the door, but eventually tired of that and forced open a bedroom window. The officer was on the phone with 911 reporting the break-in when the bad guy got in the house. The off-duty officer fired several shots killing the criminal. Thankfully, this story has a happy ending. How much different would it have been if the fiancee was there instead of the Atlanta PD officer?
