This weeks Third Place trophy goes to a rapper and this headline: Soulja Boy Arrested on Drugs and Weapons Charges. I know, I was shocked too. When the police in Georgia conducted a traffic stop of the rented Cadillac Escalade, the rapper (he is the one in the orange jumpsuit), his driver, and three of his bodyguards were in the vehicle. The police found five ounces of marijuana, three guns, and $46,000 in cash. Everyone was arrested on several felonies and then released on $10,000 bond each. After his release from jail, Soulja Boy made this statement to fans outside the jail, “I’m innocent man. I love you all. I just want y’all to know I’m innocent.” I don’t know what he is worried about. This arrest ensures huge sales for his next album.

Second Place goes to this story from somewhere over Texas: Passenger: ‘You’re All Going to Die! It seems that “peaceful Muslim” Ali Reza Shahsavari got into an argument with another passenger on his Southwest Airlines flight. After the crew separated him and the other passenger, Ali started walking around the plane screaming that everyone was going to die and go to hell, and then ended his statements with the favorite phrase of Islamic terrorists everywhere, “Allah Akbar,” or “God is great.” This behavior is never acceptable. At 35,000, this type of behavior could have gotten Ali beaten to death by the rest of the passengers. As it was, the plane made an emergency landing in Amarillo, Texas. Ali was last seen being led away in handcuffs by uniformed police officers and FBI agents.

We haven’t been to Florida in a few weeks. That is where this weeks winning headline comes from: Clerk Kills Would-Be Robber Who Grabbed Daughter. Naples convenience store clerk, Elizabeth, was working in the store and had her two young daughters with her. On Tuesday, October 18, a man stormed into the store and demanded money from Elizabeth. She was a little slow in responding, so the robber decided he would take one of her daughters instead of money. The bad guy grabbed the stroller that held her one year old and started pushing it towards the door. That is when Elizabeth pulled her gun and shot the perp, preventing him from leaving the store with her daughter. The perp died, Elizabeth’s daughter was unharmed, and Naples, Florida, is a little safer now.
