Story of the Week

Florida and senior citizens were made for each other. Florida Woman, 93, Reaches End of the Road After 576,000 Miles in Her 1964 Mercury. Rachel bought her 1964 Mercury Comet Caliente new for $3289. Lyndon Johnson was President and gas was 39 cents a gallon. Rachel said that she was meticulous about keeping the oil changed and her “lovely chariot” serviced regularly. Unfortunately, Rachel realized she could not drive anymore when she caught herself running red lights. She discovered she was legally blind before she caused an accident. Even though Rachel can’t drive anymore, she still has a great attitude on life. “A lot of people are worse off than I am,” she said. “I don’t have cancer, I don’t have Lou Gehrig’s disease. I am lucky.”

Here is a great headline from out West, New Mexico to be specific. Men Arrested after Deputy Finds Calf in Backseat. On a traffic stop, the police arrested three men and charged them with Cattle Rustling after they found the 220 pound calf in the backset of the Honda Civic. Questions immediately come to mind. Was this a two door or four door Civic? Was the calf wearing his seatbelt? Do they still hang cattle rustlers in New Mexico?

This weeks winning headline is a classic: Cops: Accused Prostitute Offered Undercover Officer Sex For Cheeseburgers Off McDonald’s Dollar Menu. The 47 year old suspect negotiated her price with the undercover detective as two double cheeseburgers off of the Dollar Menu at McDonald’s. After she accepted the cheeseburgers and agreed to perform her end of the bargain, the woman was arrested. It is not clear if the police let her finish eating before she was taken to jail. McHooker anyone?

On a more serious note, here is the link for anyone who wants to partner with Annie and I as we start working in Brazil this week.
