The Calling

“A calling to serve God in the workplace might be to revive a failing company. Or perhaps it is to be a loyal and faithful friend to a coworker going through a tough time. Though the world may judge one as more significant than the other, God does not.” Ken Costa

It is easy to think that God’s call for our lives is something dramatic or something that thrusts us into the limelight. For most of us, though, God’s call involves serving him faithfully in the arena that he has placed us. This is not a second-class call. God needs people representing him in every business, school, and neighborhood.

Jesus taught us to pray, “Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” (Matthew 6:10) The only way that God’s Kingdom will be established in the earth is by his people carrying the kingdom into their workplaces, schools, neighborhoods, and families. We are the representatives of his Kingdom.

How can you bring the Kingdom of God into the different arenas of your life?
