What Are We Living For?

“In the end, most of us will wonder if what we’ve given ourselves to has been worth the fight, especially if no one remembers our names. And that’s why we must never forget that what is done for ourselves will one day be forgotten, but that what we have done for others will be remembered for eternity.” Erwin McManus The Way of the Warrior

What are we giving ourselves to? This is one of the most defining questions that I can ask of myself.

Am I giving myself to making money?

Am I giving myself to success?

Pleasure?

Fame?

Or am I giving myself to serve something bigger than me?

One of the most probing questions that Jesus ever asked was, “What does it profit a man if he gains the whole world but loses his soul?”

Let’s make sure that we are spending our lives in building God’s Kingdom and serving those that he has entrusted to our care!
