Where Do You Live? Part Two

“But we are citizens of heaven…”
Which economy are we connected to? All of us are affected by the money system of whichever nation we live in. Our stocks, 401K, IRA, even the houses we live in have been impacted by the downturn in the economy.
But what about the money system of God’s Kingdom? Thankfully, the Kingdom economy is different from the world’s economy. It operates by very different principles. Let’s explore a few of these.
1. The currency of the Kingdom’s economy is faith. “But without faith, it is impossible to please God. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.” Faith gets God’s attention. He is not moved by our need, He is moved by our faith. Faith is what sets us up for success, no matter what the world’s economy looks like.
2. The attitude of the Kingdom’s economy is generosity. “The generous will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed.” Saving money is good. Investing our money in the right things is important. Generosity, though, is what keeps the windows of heaven open over our lives.
3. Boldness is the step that takes us to next level in God’s economy. For some people, it might mean increasing their level of giving. For someone else, it mean starting a business. Others might begin investing in real estate. Many of us should boldly and ruthlessly work to reduce our amount of personal debt. This one important step will put us in a wonderful position to be successful and prosper, even if the world’s economy is sick.
How much thought do you give to God’s Economy? What is one thing that you can do to put yourself in a better position financially?
