Which Way are You Getting Pushed?

“As pressure and stress bear down on me, I find joy in your commands.” (Psalm 119:143)

Pressure, stress, tribulation, and problems are going to come. They are a part of life. The real test, however, is how I respond to them. Do I allow the stresses of life to beat me down and steal my joy? Do I allow the pressure of my job, family responsibilities, or financial problems put me in a bad frame of mind?

This verse really provides us an important life lesson. When the pressure and stress come, let it push us towards God rather than away from Him. Let us find our comfort in God’s Word rather than a drink or trip to the mall for some therapy shopping.

I need to allow the pressures of life to strengthen me, not tear me down. Let pressure and stress push us to God’s Word, not away from it. If we do, we will find ourselves becoming stronger people spiritually, mentally, and emotionally.

How do you deal with stress?
