Who is He?

Ernest Borgnine played the Roman Centurion in “Jesus of Nazareth.”

“When his family heard what was happening, they tried to take him away. ‘”He’s out of his mind,”‘ they said.”

“But the teachers of religious law said, “He’s possessed by Satan.”

“When the Roman officer who stood facing him saw how he had died, he exclaimed, ‘”This man truly was the Son of God!”‘

He was misunderstood and not recognized when He walked among us. It should be no surprise that people struggle today to come to terms with Him. When it got right down to it, it was the most unlikely of people that recognized who He really was. It was not the Religious Leaders that recognized Him. Even His own family and followers did not understand until later. How ironic that the one who put Him on the cross was the first to recognize His divinity!

As we move into the Easter week, may we recognize Jesus for who he really is. May we take his teaching to heart and let the Holy Spirit mold us into his image. And may we never take his sacrifice for granted!
