“Late in the afternoon the twelve disciples came to him and said, “Send the crowds away to the nearby villages and farms, so they can find food and lodging for the night. There is nothing to eat here in this remote place.”

But Jesus said, “You feed them.

Over the years, I have heard the same questions over and over. Sometimes it is from non-Christians, but I’ve also heard it from Christians. Maybe you have heard or voiced similar questions yourself:

“Why does God allow bad things to happen?”

“Why doesn’t God take care of those poor, hungry children?”

“Why doesn’t God stop poverty, hunger and disease?”

I have been wondering lately if maybe God is looking down and asking us the same questions.

“Why do they allow bad things to happen?”

“Why don’t they take care of those poor, hungry children?”

“Why don’t they put a stop to poverty, hunger and disease?”

In trying to make God responsible for all the problems in the world, it seems that we are letting ourselves off of the hook. If everything is God’s fault, I don’t have to do anything.

“But I’m just one person. What could I possibly do to change the world?”

Mother Teresa said it best when she said, “If you can’t feed a hundred people, feed just one.” We can all start somewhere. My wife, Annie, and I sponsor two children through Compassion International. It is a great organization that has been making an impact on children and families for many years. For just $38 a month you can change a child’s life.

There are so many other great organizations that are doing amazing things to help suffering people all over the world. There are probably some in your own community that you could contribute your time and money to. Why not find one that you would feel comfortable supporting or working with? Together, we can make a difference!

Of course, missionaries need support, too! Annie and I are serving God in the US, Africa, India, and in South America. You can become a part of our team by clicking here. Thank you!
